Divorce common during months of August and March

According to new research, certain periods of the year appear to be more popular for people to end their marriages compared to others. The research showed that the peak months for divorce are the months of August and March. Meanwhile, people in Texas and other states typically avoid getting divorced during the fall months.

People understandably do not want to get divorced during the holiday months, when families get together to enjoy one another. After all, they do not want to receive accusations from friends and family of being heartless. Still, usually if people decide to file for divorce in January, they made the decision to do this long before the holidays and were simply waiting until the holidays were over.

Spring is often considered a better season for getting divorced versus the holidays. However, the children are still going to school, so breaking the bad news at this time may not be a wise move for some. For others, March is a peak season perhaps because by this time, people who were hoping their marriage would work out during the holidays are finally ready to call it quits.

Getting divorced can be trying both emotionally and financially no matter when one decides to get divorced. However, with proper legal guidance, people can make informed decisions regarding how to approach potentially contentious matters such as property division and asset division. Tackling these issues through divorce negotiation versus litigation in Texas may ultimately help a couple to reach a settlement that is mutually satisfactory and beneficial long term.
